Getting Climate READi for COP 28: A Primer to Inform Thematic Conversations

Three decades after the Rio Summit where the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) was formally launched, stakeholders from government, investment groups, industry, academia, and frontline communities will once again gather for the 28th annual meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP) to explore and negotiate required actions to tackle the challenges of climate change to societies around the globe.

Electrification required for societal decarbonization has increased the criticality of a resilient power system. Further, extreme weather and the impacts of a changing climate mean rethinking the planning and operation of the power system. Climate READi is developing the resources to advance these discussions and analysis.
