This report seeks to provide electric company integrated resource planners and other relevant internal stakeholders with a focused reference document on cost and performance of selected supply-side electric generation and energy storage technologies. These include fossil fuel (central station and small-scale), nuclear, and renewable generation technologies, as well as lithium-ion battery energy storage technologies. The analysis and tables presented in this report utilize detailed data from 2020 and 2021 research results from EPRI’s TAGWeb® (Technical Assessment Guide Web) software, along with assumptions about generation technology cost and performance. This report provides a basis for energy-economic analyses, as well as a reference for stakeholders who need credible data on performance and cost of conventional and emerging electricity technologies.
