Canada REGEN Model Documentation

The Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) develops and applies an energy-economic model of the United States and Canada called the North America Regional Economy, Greenhouse Gas, and Energy (REGEN) model. The model provides an integrated framework for exploring the evolutions of energy supply and demand in Canada and the United States with technological, sectoral, temporal, and spatial detail. This report documents unique features and data sources for the Canadian portion of the North America model, since a more detailed discussion of the model structure and data for the United States can be found in the US-REGEN documentation (EPRI, 2020). This documentation describes the model structure as of 2021, which is the version of the model applied in the Canadian National Electrification Assessment (EPRI, 2021).
