This document is intended to be a reference for any power system planner who is interested in the trajectory of measuring and ensuring resource adequacy. It can be a helpful reference for understanding the origins of existing metrics, the changes motivating new types of metrics, and the proposed uses of new metrics. It also describes what is yet unknown about how to measure and ensure future resource adequacy.
