Economy-wide greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets, incentives for energy efficient appliances, and plans to phase out fossil-fueled vehicles are examples of recent state-level policies that have emphasized economy-wide decarbonization and encourage end-use technology switching. The implications of state policies on electric vehicle deployment, industrial decarbonization, and electrification of heating and cooling could change electricity demand and interact with federal incentives. A list of state-level end-use and economy-wide policies and incentives was used to update the US-REGEN model. The following report details the process by which the policies were collected, catalogues the policies that were incorporated into US-REGEN, and presents an analysis of the impact of state policies on national emissions and end-use technology adoption.
